Moore County Airport offers a first class flight instruction program. Please call us 910-692-3212 and ask for the Flight Center.
We have three Cessna 172 aircraft and all of them are equipped with GPS navigation systems for a state-of-the-art flight training experience. Two of our Cessna 172s have been modified with Garmin 430W GPS and are also equipped with the typical VHF Omni-Range (VOR) and Automatic Direction Finding (ADF) systems.
Our third aircraft is a 2000 Millennium Edition Cessna 172 SP and it is equipped with a Horizontal Situation Indicator (HSI), dual attitude indicators, a KLN 94 GPS with a Multi-Function Display (MFD) and an autopilot. This aircraft offers students a robust instrument flight training platform and provides the experience of working with some automated systems typically found on more advanced aircraft.
You will notice the tail numbers on two of our aircraft are similar, N291KF and N292KF. This is a heritage tail number that we selected and they acknowledge 1929, the year the airport was established as well as the original name, Knollwood Field.
