Moore County Airport to host the Sandhills Motoring Festival’s Road Rally, Cars & Coffee, and Hangar Party, Saturday, May 27th, 2023
Carthage, NC – The Moore County Airport will once again host events for the annual Sandhills Motoring Festival. Now entering it’s 6th year, the Sandhills Motoring Festival is a celebration of the automobile taking place over Memorial Day Weekend. In previous years, Moore County Airport hosted the SMF Hangar Party on Saturday night and this year, it will expand to also host the Saturday morning Cars & Coffee and Road Rally with over 120 cars taking part in the events. The Hangar Party features exotic cars and planes on display in the Moore County Airport Main Hangar, with a catered low country boil for registered guests.
Initiated in 2018, the Sandhills Motoring Festival is a weekend long event that celebrates all things automotive and support car culture in the Sandhills region. The event draws entrants and spectators alike from up and down the East Coast and points West. The Memorial Day Weekend events feature a Friday night Block Party at the Pine Crest Inn, Saturday events feature Cars & Coffee, Road Rally, and Hangar Party at the Moore County Airport, and on Sunday, the premiere event – Concours in the Village – with over 170 unique automobiles displayed in the historic Village of Pinehurst.
