To all Aviators,
The Army will be conducting training for their mobile air traffic controllers here at the airport, March 13-17th, 2023. The SOP airspace will be controlled by the Army controllers who will control all takeoffs and landings. The controllers will be operating on a frequency other than our CTAF 123.05. Precision approaches will be offered to anyone desiring that training. ll VFR/IFR traffic will operate under their control just as you would in a regularly controlled airspace.
They will monitor 123.05 for taxi calls. Takeoff and landing clearance will be on 121.775. You will operate as normal in VFR conditions flying normal traffic patterns. If you desire to fly a Precision Approach Radar (PAR) contact GCA on 140.150. We urge you to take advantage of this opportunity. You will have another tool to your flight kit, and this will help the Army’s training.
A NOTAM will be posted listing frequencies and specific information. We will update with more specifics as they are available. Please contact Ron Maness with any questions.
